In response to the foreclosure crisis, President Bush recently signed the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act into law, eliminating the tax burden for homeowners after foreclosure. Nevada has been hit particularly hard with foreclosures. The Governor's Office recently launched a website to provide homeowners with the information they need to prevent foreclosure if possible. Last, but not least, please make sure you check out the Federal Housing Administration's excellent new program, FHASecure, offering FHA-secured refinancing for homeowner's facing foreclosure.
